Fun Sourdough facts!
Sourdough is the oldest form of leavened bread. ( Although it is difficult to say for certain when exactly the first sourdough was discovered, we do know that the first recorded civilization we know of that made sourdough bread was the Egyptians around 1500 BC. )
The fiber in sourdough feeds healthy gut bacteria, which helps maintain a healthy digestive system.
Sourdough bread is leavened with a sourdough starter, which is a wild yeast culture that has been fermented.
Sourdough is higher in B vitamins and fiber, and lower on the glycemic index (GI) than regular bread.
The long fermentation process breaks down gluten and other proteins, making sourdough easier to digest than white bread.

Store your bread in a bread bag or covered with a tea towel first 1-2 days then a ziplock bag until day 5-7. You can also freeze your sourdough up to 6 months. DO NOT store in the fridge! it will dry your loaf out.

3-7 days if stored properly! Remember it wont last as long as store bought bread because there are no preservatives in our sourdough.
